Dental implants are very successful in replacing lost, loose, broken or painful teeth. Dr Bozza completed an intensive dental implant training program and has continued to train with experts in the field through many hours of continuing education in order to place implants and then place the crown, bridge, or denture on the implant after it has had time to integrate into the bone. Our patients love the fact that they can now have stable teeth whether they have lost one tooth or would like to have their denture or partial fit and function better. Our patients also appreciate being able to have this treatment done in one facility so they don’t have to go from place to place.
Here’s an example of a patient that came in with major structural issues that were corrected.

Periodontitis, or gum disease, is a major cause of tooth loss. This silent killer often goes unnoticed since it does not always present with tooth pain and must be detected during a periodontal examination of the gums. This infectious process can cause damage resulting in tooth loss and bad breath but it can also have a negative effect on the body’s ability to defend itself against systemic insults to the heart, lungs and kidneys. Gum disease is also a complicating factor (if untreated and maintained) in patients with diabetes, heart, lung or kidney issues and during pregnancy. At the Smile Center, Dr. Bozza and the Dental Hygiene professionals deliver treatment to arrest the progress of periodontal disease and help our patients to develop healthy gum tissues. Current research has revealed how important healthy gums are to an overall healthy body and lifestyle. Feel free to ask us questions regarding this very important health concern.
If you or a loved one is experiencing sleep problems due to snoring or sleep apnea, custom oral appliances often provide an alternative treatment for snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. A small device fits in the mouth during sleep and helps to prevent the collapse of the tongue and soft tissues in the back of the throat, keeping the airway open during sleep and promoting adequate air intake. Oral appliances may be used alone or in combination with other treatments for sleep-related breathing disorders, such as weight management, surgery or CPAP machines. Many patients have found that using an appliance is more tolerable than using a CPAP device when sleeping.
As a member of the International Association of Orthodontics Dr Bozza has devoted many hours to continued study and training in orthodontics. We are very proud of the many beautiful smiles we have helped to develop in our patients of all ages. Dr. Bozza and his staff have transformed many patients by creating not just beautiful smiles but beautiful faces. He has trained with many experts in Orthodontics as wells as in Maxillofacial Orthopedics to be able to change facial growth patterns to create full beautiful smiles, in most cases without the need to extract permanent teeth. In addition to the standard orthodontic treatment we also offer “Clear Correct” orthodontics which allows the teeth to be straightened with the newest clear braces which is very popular with adults who would like to improve their smile without showing metal braces.
While it is important to do everything we can to keep our teeth some teeth do require extraction due to extensive decay, periodontal disease or trauma. At the Smile Center we perform extraction, implants and other surgical procedures in a comfortable, familiar environment with care and compassion.
Full and partial Dentures
When teeth or facial support are lost through decay, accident or periodontal disease the structures and facial balance can be restored through the fabrication of dental appliances such as full or partial dentures. These appliances can sometimes be used in conjunction with dental implants to create a whole new facial appearance that is more youthful with support for the lips and midface helping to replace some of what has been lost to nature over time. Dr. Bozza has studied this area and works at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine with future dentists who are learning these techniques. Many patients that have suffered with painful loose dentures are now thrilled to have their dentures stabilized at The Smile Center in one patient visit so they can eat and smile with comfort and confidence.
When there is decay or a fracture of a tooth, it is necessary to place a restoration (filling or other form of replacement) in the tooth to stop the spread of decay .We use natural looking tooth colored materials to restore and strengthen the teeth.
When the nerve dies in a tooth due to extensive decay or trauma there is often considerable pain. We can comfortably and efficiently save the tooth by removing the infected portion of the tooth with the procedure known as root canal. Although this term may sound scary our patients are always pleasantly surprised at the fact that the procedure is usually painless and well tolerated due to the modern advances endodontic treatment.
